Lessons in Frustration – I always tell my girls, “Everything is work, even happiness.” The fact that creating requires effort (sometimes a whole LOT of effort) is enough to stop many from even attempting it. Let me tell you, I LOVE crafts and creative endeavors of all kinds but one thing I never bargained for was the frustration of getting it wrong. It is such a BUMMER to waste a ton of effort and supplies to create something that doesn’t make you feel good about it. There are folks who understand that mistakes are learning opportunities. Actually, there are many positive things that can be said about challenges, set-backs, mistakes and what have you. Unfortunately, realistically speaking, when faced with constant obstacles your average person just gets frustrated (and there’s a whole group of us who have the tendency to give up). Unfortunately, if you give up you will never achieve your goals – and so, you arrive at the conclusion that quitting is not an option. Just like you have to forge ahead at work, with your kids and in every other area of your life, decorating your home depends on you.
